I have had relaxed hair my entire life and my mum always took care of my hair up until I reached the age of about 14 when I took over and started taking care of my own hair. That is when everything went downhill, and I spent the majority of my adolescent life and early adult life not taking very good care of my hair and just experiencing nothing short of continuous breakage. I went natural quite recently, in April; April 24th 2018 to be exact and I went ahead and did the full boy cut. The decision to cut my hair was a spontaneous one but also definitely a decision I had been contemplating for a good while.

Where are you on your natural hair journey?

I would say I’m in a good place in my natural hair journey. My hair is growing and not breaking, and I’ve gotten to a place where I know what products I need to put in my hair to keep it relatively moisturized. I’m still learning as I go but I’m in a better position (especially with my knowledge of natural hair) than when I first cut my hair and had no clue what to do with it.

What are your natural hair struggles?

My current natural hair struggle is making sure my hair is growing evenly. At the moment, the back is growing at a much slower rate than the rest of my hair, which is super annoying so at the moment dealing with that is currently my dilemma.

Why do you love Boho Locs?

I love Boho Locs because it is made by us for us. I love it also because it is a protective style that is easy to install, doesn’t cause tension to your hair and that most importantly looks good.

What style will you be doing next?

At the moment, I have in the Bob Naturel Boho Goddess Locs, but I think I may either do the same or have the Midnight Boho Goddess Locs installed. To be honest, I’m highly likely to change my mind.

What is it like working at Boho Locs?

It’s exciting working for a black-owned business and working with an all-female team. It is also rewarding to be part of a company with such solid ethos and values. But it is equally a lot of hard work.

So, I’ve been natural my whole life. I’ve never wanted to relax my hair despite watching my entire family relax their hair. I have always loved my natural hair and never wanted to put chemicals in it. So, since I was very young I continuously braided my hair meaning my hair continuously grew and now in my adulthood I have experimented with different styles in my hair.

Where are you on your natural hair journey?

I would say that I’m loving my natural hair and loving experimenting with different protective styles and just generally seeing with one work for me. I have tried weave but that didn’t agree with my hair. I then moved on to crochet styles and wigs, however, I am at a stage now with my hair where the older I get, the more my hair doesn’t want to agree with me and finding the right products to use on my hair is tasking.

What are your natural hair struggles?

My struggle is with all the new knowledge being released about how to take care of your hair. I mean, I know that my hair is low porosity but I’m still working on identifying what products work best for my hair.

Why Boho Locs?

It offers a protective style that LOOKS GREAT! But also because, it’s created by US FOR US!

Why do you love Boho Locs?

I love Boho Locs because it allows me to get all my product in one pack instead of buying multiple packs like you would do in your local hair shop. I also love how easy it is to install the locs.

What style will you be doing next?

I previously had in the Bronde Boho Goddess Locs but with so much locs to choose from, I’m not sure what style I’ll go for next but rest assured when I do I’ll show you all.

What is it like working at Boho Locs?

I’m so proud to be working for a black-owned business and proud that we can provide a quality product to our sisters around the world. However, at the same time, it’s hard work because as a small business there are so many different areas of the company that us three ladies manage.
