So Faux Loc fever is officially here, and I for one have caught the bug and BAD!
With the introduction of our Bronde mermaid crochet Locs to our current available styles available for purchase, I get a lot of questions on the difference between them and our BOHO GODDESS LOCS, so let me break it down for you.
First and foremost our crochet locs are a GREAT protective style and that’s across the board, my natural hair is thick, healthy and growing well with them, after a botched Brazilian blow dry left if weak, limp and thin.
Yes.....I was feeling myself in that video I'll admit! I was just SO HAPPY with my locs!
As the owner of the brand BOHOLOCS ® I’m am constantly cooking up brand new crochet loc styles for my people and my newest invention MERMAID LOCS have been very very popular.
In this post I’m going to break down the difference between our BOHO GODDESS and our MERMAID LOCS as that is the number one question I get!
WHAT ARE MERMAID LOCS?
MERMAID LOCS are locs and wavy hair mixed together to create a super sexy loc wave hybrid!
Good mermaid locs are made with the best quality locs and the best quality synthetic hair.

WHAT ARE BOHO GODDESS LOCS?
BOHO GODDESS are our handmade crochet locs but without the waves…so just the locs.
All bronde BOHO GODDESS locs (pictured below)
HOW ARE THEY DIFFERENT?
Firstly they are more similar than they are different!
Both looks are sold as complete sets with EVERYTHING you need to replicate the look by yourself!
Both looks come complete with hair ties and jewels that you can use if you want to jazz up the look.
Both looks SHIP WORLDWIDE!
Both looks SLAY (of course)
The main difference is what you get hair wise in each kit.
IN OUR MERMAID LOC KIT YOU GET

IN OUR BOHO GODDESS KIT YOU GET:

So basically with MERMAID LOCS you get locs and a pack of wavy hair…with BOHO GODDESS you get all locs…I hope that makes sense.
ARE THEY APPLIED DIFFERENTLY?
Slightly.
Both looks are applied using the crochet method with individual crochet in the front.
The main difference being that with the mermaid locs you apply a wavy strand every 2 – 3 locs, so that the locs and waves are mixed throughout.
Also in the hairline with the MERMAID LOCS you will use the wavy hair to create individual extensions which you then wrap the loc onto…It's SIMPLE to do…I might have made it sound more difficult that it is tbh…
But if you buy them we provide a full tutorial video as part of the after care package, so don’t even worry about it. We show you how to apply them....we got you!
CAN I APPLY THEM MYSELF?
Yessir!
Both looks can be applied by you in the comfort of your own home! We provide the tutorial videos so you can watch, learn and do!

DO I HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF THEM DIFFERENTLY?
Yes!
And this is where the locs are probably most different.
The MERMAID Locs do need more care than our BOHO GODDESS Locs because of the wavy hair. With our MERMAID LOCS we advise going through the hair and separating the locs and the wavy hair strand one from another daily. This is because as with all synthetic hair it can tangle over time, now the tangling is to be expected but what we don't want is for the wavy hair to matt together, and going through the hair once daily can help to minimise this.
The BOHO GODDESS locs don't need to be separated daily and so are lower maintenance.
