At Boho Locs, June is all about VALUE.
We’re pouring into you with real tips for your hair, skin, and locs—because looking good is one thing, but feeling good? That’s the real flex.
Last week, we got into Lulu’s skincare journey—she shared how she keeps her skin glowing and moisturized, even on those “bare-faced but still cute” days. This week, we’re moving from skin to scalp.
Let’s talk about something we all want:
Long, healthy, thriving hair.
And yes, you absolutely can grow your natural hair while wearing faux locs. You need the right habits and a little consistency.
Let’s break it down.

1. Take Care of Your Scalp—It’s Where the Growth Starts
You can’t grow healthy hair if your scalp is dry, itchy, or full of buildup.
Even when you’ve got your Boho Locs installed, you still need to keep your scalp clean and nourished.
A few easy things to try:
Use a diluted shampoo and an applicator bottle to wash your scalp every other week.
Follow up with a lightweight oil like jojoba or tea tree. Massage it into boost circulation and stimulate growth.
If you’ve got that one spot that’s always itchy, don’t scratch with your nails. Use your fingertips or try a gentle scalp massager.

2. Moisture Is Still a Must
Even when your natural hair is tucked away, it still needs moisture.
Dry hair = breakage, and we don’t have time for that.
Keep a spray bottle on deck with water and a little aloe or leave-in conditioner.
Mist your roots a few times a week.
Seal it in with oil if needed—but don’t go overboard. Lightweight is key, especially if you’re wearing your locs long-term.

3. Wrap It Up at Night
We know—wrapping your hair can feel like a chore after a long day.
But sis, protecting your hair while you sleep is a game-changer.
A satin or silk scarf or bonnet will help cut down on friction and keep your edges and locs looking fresh.
Satin pillowcase? Yes. Always.
It’s the little things that keep your install cute and your natural hair healthy.
4. Don’t Skip the Breaks
We get it. You love your locs. So do we.
But your hair still needs a breather between installs.
After wearing your Boho Locs for 6–8 weeks, take a short break—at least a week or two. Give your scalp a reset, deep condition your curls, trim your ends if needed, and let your hair breathe before your next slay session.
5. Your Diet Plays a Part Too
What you eat matters. If you’re not fueling your body with the good stuff, your hair’s not gonna grow the way you want it to.
So make sure you’re:
Drinking plenty of water (yes, again!)
Getting your protein and leafy greens
Taking your vitamins if needed (biotin, collagen, etc.)
Healthy hair starts from the inside out.
